Throughout my time working in the film industry as a scenic artist, I learned many different technics on creating faux finishes. The chosen pieces demonstrate an understanding of color, material, shape and lighting.
Nashville 911 Season 1 :Brick
Acrylic paint on laser-cut MDF sheets, 25'x40' faux finish brick wall. I was given one day to prime, texture, mix the colors and complete the wall to be ready for transport by the end of the day.
Reasonable Doubt Season 2: Tile
Acrylic, Japans and lacquer based clear on MDF. For this project I had to match existing tiles for an archway on set. I mixed the colors and hand painted the tiles for installation.
Reasonable Doubt Season 2: Marble Floor
Japans and automotive clear on MDF. During this project I had to match a reference image of green marble flooring for the set.
Reasonable Doubt Season 2: Marble
Japans and automotive clear on MDF. For this marble piece i was allowed to choose the marble reference as long as it was blue and recreate it. I had a lot of fun creating the texture and veining in the project.
Reasonable Doubt Season 2: Tile
Japans and automotive clear on MDF. During this project I had to match preexisting real marble tile being used for a bathroom set. I enjoyed the challenge of having to perfectly match preexisting movement heavy marble.
Nashville 911 Season 1: Horse
Acrylic and automotive clear on hard coated foam. During this project I had less than three hours to airbrush spray all the details on this life-sized horse sculpture. It was a challenge but still one of the most fun projects I have worked on yet.
